Holistic Therapy

Holism is a Greek word eaning “all, entire or total” and is based on the idea that all the properties of a given system cannot be determined or explained by its component parts alone. Instead, the system as a whole determines in an important way how the parts behave.
Therapy is another Greek word that simply means “treatment”.
Holistic Therapy then as applied to the human body means treating the person as a whole of mind body and spirit. The term covers a wide range of treatments and the emphasis is often on acheiving a balance rather than using chemicals to treat a particular symptom.
The emphasis is firmly on natural or organic sources of healing and many techniques have their origins in Eastern systems of health care.
